Chattanooga Bar Foundation 
Liberty   Bell Award Law Scholarship 

BACKGROUND AND ELIGIBILITY 

The Chattanooga Bar Association established this law scholarship beginning in 2007, to be named after the Liberty Bell Award Recipient for that same year.  The scholarship will be awarded to a recent (within three (3) years) University of Tennessee at Chattanooga graduate who is enrolled for the year beginning in the Fall, of his/her graduation date from UTC, in the College of Law at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, Vanderbilt University Law School, or the Nashville School of Law.  The Scholarship is a one-time grant awarded by the Fellows of the Chattanooga Bar Foundation in the amount of $2,500.00.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

·        Eligible University of Tennessee at Chattanooga graduates must submit a complete application and attach all the required supporting documents.

·        Applications must be postmarked no later than June 30, 2012.  
 

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

·        A certified college transcript that contains the student’s undergraduate class rank and test scores.

·        A personal statement that provides (1) a brief biographical sketch, and (2) a description of the applicant’s goals for the future.

·        Personal or financial statement/circumstances comparable to the applicant’s submission to the law school.

·        A letter of recommendation from applicant’s undergraduate teacher or advisor.  The letter should detail the applicant’s academic background, achievements, leadership abilities and community involvement.  The letter should contain personalized information about the applicant.

CERTIFICATION AND RELEASE

The applicant must sign the attached application, certifying that all information provided is true and complete to the best of the applicant’s knowledge.
